'88 Accord radio and heat won't turn on	Sign In

1988 Honda Accord LX, 2.0, 156,000 miles

One day the radio and heat just wouldn't kick on. The next time, they did kick on and the next time they didn't. My neighbor and I were pushing wires around to see if anything was loose and the radio and heat cut back on. Then after turning the car off and back on again, the radio and heat wouldn't come back on. Is this an electrical issue and if so how do I fix it?

Since the components are electrical and messing with wires helped, its obviously an electrical problem. You need to find what is loose. One of the guys might have a wiring diagram showing where the common power or ground is, but you can look by checking connectors for a pin that is loose in the housing while hooked up to the parts still.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to sound like an idiot. I know that it's an electrical problem. I'm just not mechanically inclined. Thanks for the reply though.

Just keep doing what you're doing until you isolate the exact point that turns it on and off.
