87 s-10 with no back lights

Hi my truck for some reason is being weird. first off i have no lights in the back. i get the small bulbs to come on when i hit the break pedal but its the wrong ones for the break lights. when i checked for power i only got power in two wires DK Green and yellow. the brown wire should be the main power that turns the lights on when the front lights go on... i checked the grounds, there good, i checked for splices in the wires and there where none. when i followed the wires to the cab i could see anything out of place and so i dont know what to do now...
