Hi, we have a 1976 Honda Civic CVCC 1.5 engine with about 95,000 miles. We've had several strange electrical issues, but today, for the second time, I left the lights on and killed the battery. Both times I've popped the clutch and had it jumped/charged for a few minutes and the car will start but will only run for 15-30 seconds (even when it is still hooked up to the other car's battery and they are revving). It seems like perhaps the fuel pump requires too much juice? We had the alternator tested, we replaced the voltage regulator. Otherwise, the radio and dash lights have stopped working a couple times but came back, now they are gone. I'm trickle charging the battery and pretty sure it will work fine now (normally starts and runs great). Thanks for any and all advice.

The first thing you need to do is get that battery charged up and see if you still have any problems. You can't really look for anything beyond that point right now. It's likely all just a discharged battery issue. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
