I have a 1998 town and country that won't turn over if I don't start it everyday. I was told that there is something draining the battery, first it was suggeasted that it was the altenator...got a new one..then it wouldn't start but the battery was good..second suggestion, the alarm modulator. The rear door hatch lock would out of no where start locking and unlocking at an unrealistic speed. Oh! I forgot to mention, the lights on the ac/heat control buttons constantly blink.

There is a procedure for finding a battery draw like that.

You will need a digital ammeter and a jumper wire with clips on the ends to do this.
First rig any door switches so you can have a door open without triggering the interior lights and unplug the hood light. Remove one battery cable and attach the meter in series between the battery cable and battery post. Take the jumper wire and also attach it the same way. Leave the jumper wire on for at least 10 minutes to expire all the automatic timers. Now remove the jumper wire and read the meter. Anything over 50ma is too much draw. The way you locate this is to start removing fuses one at a time until the meter drops to normal level. This will be the circuit with something staying on. Determine what components are part of that circuit and check them individually until the problem is isolated.

Thanks I will try that, I will let you know how it turns out after I re-read and re-re-read your response until my layman brain comprehends Smile. I will admit that I am a procrastinator so don't look for my response this week Unsure.

If you let that battery run all the way down too many times, you'll be replacing it.

I just went to harbor freight tools to see what this ammeter looks like and it turns out that I already have one, mistakenly retrieved from my mechanic dad's house...thought I was borrowing the OBD reader and when I got home I was puzzled. Now I know what I have, an Ammeter Blush. Just have to locate a jumper wire with clips.
