2008 Impala LT 3.5 L V6, 105,000 miles I'm the third or fourth cook in the stew. The story is that the battery ran down, car was jump started and they cut it off before it had time to bring the batt back up. So they took the batt out and to O'Reilly for charge and test. Two hours on the charger and the batt checked OK. The owner said that when they tried to re-jump the car that the guy had to connect the negative cable to the negative post of the batt and the positive jumper to the positive post in the underhood fuse panel. Connecting the jumper cables as one would do normally yielded NOTHING. I suspect that the second time the genius, er, make that the would-be helper crossed the cables and burned something out, but I have checked the Batt 60 Amp fuse and the starter relay and all are OK. When I connect the jumper cables to the batt posts, I get nothing. No lights, no nothing. When I connect the negative jumper to the negative post and the positive jumper to the high post in the underhood fuse box, I get lights and everything but nothing but one click from the starter solenoid. Not a chatter but one click. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

There really aren't any fuses or fusible links between the battery and the main fuse box so the issue really has to be a cable connection issue between the 2. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

The top of the posts had been cleaned, but underneath was so there was almost no current flow from battery through the cables. I replaced one cable and one cable connector. Pouring Coke on the connections is not always a good idea. Thanks for the schematic.
