2006 chevy malibu tail lights keeps blowing fuze Sign In

ok here is that big pain in my but (right now lol) My 2006 chevy malibu 2.7l 4 banger, has been blowing the tail light fuse for about the last month. It started in a heavy rain storm so i figured that something got wet and caused the fuse to blow. But i couldn't find a place were anything was getting wet. so i replaced the fuse and it didn't do it again for about 2 weeks. i desided to pull the tail lights and check for any damage to the wiring i checked from the fuse panel to the exit point in the trunk and the harness for the lights found no problems. i am getting 12v to the lights. i checked the resistance to the in the wires nothing high. checked the resistance from the wires to the ground the only thing i found was the pass side was showing 1.9 to 2.0 ohms when the driver side was only showing 1.3 to 1.5 ohms. i cant find any damaged lines. i removed the bumper and pulled the hole rear lamp harness out and inspected the hole thing but cant find any damage. check the connectors, everything is fine there. i checked the wires for any braking or streching. no luck there either.i plugged the main harness back in to the fuse box and replaced the fuse turned on the lights and after about a min the fuse blew again. so i changed the fuse again and played with the wires all the way down the harness and it didn't blow. this thing is being a pain in the but has anyone delt with this before or does anyone have the digram so i can troubleshoot it more. or hell does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it
thanx

Do you mean running lights or brake lights? I wouldn't think there would be a fuse just for rear running lights,

I would call these "running" lights - this should include lights in front also. Do they still work when this happens?

Models vary and the rear bulbs may or may not also be brake lights and directionals - a dual filament bulb, one brighter than the other.

Hard to say but I'd swap out the bulbs and dielectric grease or at least WD-40 in the sockets while bulbs are out. Guess it's possible for a bulb to consume too much juice for the fuse??
