2006 Toyota Sequoia Limited suspension problem	Sign In

When I brakes on my Toyota or turn left sometimes the "man" assuming manual light appears on the dash display. Is my suspension sensor going bad or is it something else. Also when parked my sequoia air suspension is lost when it parks for an hour or so and it then lowers. Maybe the sensor is causing all of this.

See if there are any codes stored in the suspension ECU. You can do it with a jumper wire. Jump pin 4 to pin 13 in the diagnostic link connector. Then turn on the ignition. The "man." , manual, indicator will flash two digit codes. Write down the codes.

So I jumped the wire to the pins you told me and it flashed 3 times,then paused, and then 5 times. So the two digits are 3 and 5.

That would be code 35. According to service information that code pops up if there is a problem with the exhaust solenoid valve or its circuit. The ECU has detected either a short or open.

Here is the description:

The suspension control ECU operates the exhaust solenoid valve (height control compressor), releases the air from the height control cylinder assembly (pneumatic cylinder), and lowers vehicle height. When the vehicle height is lowered, the suspension control ECU opens the height control valve and then operates the exhaust solenoid valve to release the compressed air to the outside. The exhaust solenoid valve is on the compressor unit and has only one valve.

Inspect the exhaust solenoid valve connector and wiring. If it looks good, measure the resistance of the valve. It should be 10 to 14 ohms. Power the valve manually and see if you can hear it clicking. The wire colors are blue/red and white/black.
