Electrical problem 2006 Chevy Malibu 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 40000 miles Car has been running perfectly. Went out to start it this evening and nothing. No power anywhere. No electric door locks, no lights at all, no crank, the only thing I noticed was a slight ticking sound and the "lock"warning light on the dash would flicker every 6 seconds while the key was in the ignition. Could this be some sort of an anti-theft device gone wrong?

No, you have no battery power for some reason. the most likely cause is something stayed on and drew the battery down. Either remove the battery and charge it of try to jump start the car with a booster. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
