Do you mean a power port? Cig lighter is the size but a different bird. I do this to my own BUT you use an open spot in a fuse panel and fuse the dang things. Choose it to work if ignition is on only or all the time. If you tapped into something else you are asking for trouble.

How are you checking fuses? Check for power not just looks. If you chomped into existing wiring you really need to know just which one(s) and not hack that up in doing so,

I don't think a 12 volt cigar lighter will work in an accessory 12 volt power port. Did you test the port for power using a volt meter?

Tidbit on this: Real OE "cigar" lighters actually use some serious power to make the element glow to pop out. Power port alone is much better for assorted 12v things you may want to use and will get a good connection much better than a real lighter port.

Said that I do add power ports even in trunks to power or charge things including a jumper box I always carry. How you power and fuse them is going to matter AND how much power you ask the things to do. Cell phones etc., are nothing. Certain incandescent lights, air pumps or an inverter could easily overload the fuse or worse the wiring used.

Silly as the WallyWorld kit seems it isn't clear about amps, fusing etc. I think that's where this problem is,
