2004 silverado tach stopped working after startup.

I have a 2004 Silverado that after startup the Tachometer stops working. Any ideas?

If the rest of the instrument cluster and the truck are running “normally” there’s a good chance that the problem is right inside the cluster. GM trucks have had quite a few issues with the clusters back then. With the proper scan tool; there is a test that can request the instrument cluster to perform a full gauge sweep, of all gauge needles. This will tell you whether the issue is in the cluster or a communication problem between the cluster and the power train computer. Dan. Canadian "EH"
