I have a 2004 for explorer that the windows wont work... It started this winter... initially i thought it was because i tried to roll them down when they were frozen by ice.... but that wasnt the case... next i changed the circuit breaker in the fuse box... they worked.... the next morning they didnt... I then changed the fuse.... they worked again.... then again they didnt... finally they were working and i had a friend jiggle the wire housing between the front drivers side door and the A post... again they stopped working.... WHATS NEXT? take the door apart?

pull back the boot on the drivers door and look tug on each wire one by one aswell as visally inspect them.. you probably have a broken wire in that boot.

Very very common to have broken or partially broken wires in the drivers door jamb. sounds like a couple of wires shorting out due to cracks or breaks in the wires. like the other post mentions pull the boot back and visually inspect the wires.
