2003 Honda Accord Ex Tail light not lighting up Sign In

Year of vehicle 2003
Make of vehicle Honda
Model of vehicle Accord EX
Engine size 4.0

Mileage/Kilometers 64,000

My problem is at night when I turn on my headlights, my passenger side tail light does not light up at all. However, when I press my breaks it works just fine. I finally got pulled over for it tonight and was told it is a safety hazard.

As long as I have owned the car this has not worked properly. I bought the car used in 2006 but never really thought of it as an issue till tonight. Does anyone have any idea what the problem can be? Electrical switch? Fuse? Board?

OK, I'm going to ask the obvious question that you didn't answer. Did you replace the bulb?

Yes I replaced the bulb and when i tested the old bulb it worked perfectly fine.

When I press the breaks it lights up. But does not give off any light when my headlights are on.

Is this to say it works but just real dim? Check out socket and wires to it with a incandescent test light too if necessary.

Remember lights or anything really needs both power and good ground which may be the issue??

The brake lights and tail lights are 2 entirely different circuits and bulb filaments. The problem is likely in the socket itself. I would just get a new one and splice it in.
