Do you have a security light on or flashing when you try to start it?

All "crank, no start" conditions are approached in the same way. Every engine requires certain functions to be able to run. Some of these functions rely on specific components to work and some components are part of more than one function so it is important to see the whole picture to be able to conclude anything about what may have failed. Also, these functions can ONLY be tested during the failure. Any other time and they will simply test good because the problem isn't present at the moment.
If you approach this in any other way, you are merely guessing and that only serves to replace unnecessary parts and wastes money.

Every engine requires spark, fuel and compression to run. That's what we have to look for.

These are the basics that need to be tested and will give us the info required to isolate a cause.

1) Test for spark at the plug end of the wire using a spark tester. If none found, check for power supply on the + terminal of the coil with the key on.

2) Test for injector pulse using a small bulb called a noid light. If none found, check for power supply at one side of the injector with the key on.

3) Use a fuel pressure gauge to test for correct fuel pressure, also noticing if the pressure holds when key is shut off.

4) If all of these things check good, then you would need to do a complete compression test.

Once you have determined which of these functions has dropped out,
you will know which system is having the problem.

I'm leaning toward a shorted wire or maybe something in the ignition circuit but not sure how to test it

You can lean any direction you want but until you do the testing I gave you, you will have no direction to go.

i checked for spark at the plugs and coil they are good checked the small wire between the starter and under hood fuse box with ohm meter its good but not getting power to that wire to engauge starter when the key is turned on. put a remote starter switch between small terminal and battery turn on the key push the button it starts right up runs for 5 or 10 seconds then stalls hit the button it starts right up again runs for a few then stalls every time. I switched the relay with the horn relay it was exactly the same one no difference. cleaned all the grounds and checked all the wiring harnesses

OK, since you just don't want to follow my instructions I'll leave you to your own methods.

Re: 2002 buick lesabre starter wont turn over Sign In

fuel pressure is not gonna cause the starter not to work or injecter pulses wont effect the starter and how is a compression test gonna effect the starter so clearly im not getting power somewhere between the battery and the ignition switch or between the ignition switch and the starter I have spark I have fuel have not checked compression but the cars owner told me he pulled the fuel rail and upper intake when he put the tranny in so its prolly a vaccum leak making it stall now as far as i know a vaccum leak wont disable your starter Im not some guy sitting in the garage turning the key saying dude whats wrong I'm the guy trying to fix that guys mistake

How can you have a starter problem? You just said the car runs for 5 to 10 seconds. You said you have spark. I have no idea what you're even talking about any more.
