2002 Lincoln Continental Windows won't work

The windows work inadvertantly. Will only go up a few inches at a time if at all. Sometimes with car off and key out they will go up just fine! Someone said it may be lightning module. The book says that it is located under left dash but we don't know what it looks like and can't seem to find it. Already replaced window switch main module in drivers door but didn't help. Also when you set the menu for window express, seat, etc. it goes back to original setting each time you turn car off??? Thanks
