2002 Durango int. display lights dimming/flashing w/brake/turn signal Sign In

I bought this 2002 Dodge Durango in September '08. The problem started after having an oil change and driver's side brake light replaced at the beginning of December. Almost immediately afterwards I noticed that when driving during the day, I couldn't see the displays when I had my foot on the brake. The interior displays (radio, dash and upper display) would dim almost completely when I braked. Also, when I use the turn signals, all these same interior displays flash in time with the signal. Now, I always drive with the headlights on, because the flashing and dimming doesn't happen at all with the headlights on. I took the truck to a mechanic who advised me to try driving it around for a while in an attempt to dry it out. He also suggested letting it run for an hour or so in the driveway to help in this effort. His thought was that perhaps because we had just had a big snowfall, that some wires had perhaps gotten wet and crossed (?). He said that it didn't sound like a blown fuse, which is what I was hoping for - simple! lol Any help would be appreciated!

Seems like this suddenly happened with replacing a brake light? Was that just a bulb or what?

That's a common denominator to the trouble so I'd check bulb that it's correct and the condition of the socket,

Hi again!
Just wanted to say thank-you for your previous reply. I just had my truck at the shop yesterday, as it started doing different weird electrical things (I had no running tail lights or interior display lights) after washing it, but the flashing had stopped. Weird. Turns out, it was the trailer wiring that had gotten wet (go figure!!!) and there was a short in the box causing all the headaches! They replaced the connections, etc, and we're good to go!
Thanks for your time!
