I have a 2001, 4wd, extra cab, 5speed manual, 2.7 litre tacoma with 385k miles on it. Everything worked perfectly when I parked it yesterday. When I went to start it, the ignition switch would not engage starter. Headlight and horn had plenty of power and key in ignotion chime worked. I was able to clutch start the truck but found the dash lights, instruments, AC, taillights, and wipers would not work. I checked all the under dash fuses visually and they look fine.
( there is an underdash fuse slot labelled "power" that shows a 30 amp on the fusebox cover, but has no fuse installed).
I just don't know what to check next that would disable all these functions and yet leave the truck running fine once it's push started.

You have to manually test all the fuses for power/ground om both sides of the fuse. If there is a slot with no fuse, look inside and see if it actually has metal contacts in both sides of the socket.

Look at the fuse panel under the hood. Unless someone pulled the fuse in the cab as a joke, stands to reason that the missing fuse isn't the culprit.

Check fuses in both panels and see if the solenoid has power when you cycle the key. If it doesn't, you may have a bad fuse, key switch, clutch switch, etc.

If it has power, get another starter

If the switch is bad, you may try moving the key around while in the start position. I have had luck with that on a switch that was failing in my own vehicle.
The attached diagram may be of some help
