Help! I have a 2001 4x4 dodge 1500, about 2 weeks ago, my dome lights came on and stay on. they are on when the key is on and they are on when the key is out. I turn the the dome light dim/bright switch off, and the lights go off. but now my instrument panel is so dim I can't really see it very good. I have replaced both door switches, checked the fuses I can check with the naked eye, in the cab and under the hood. All good. all of the lights on the truck work. need help on were to look now. note: the personal read lights work with the dome switch off, meaning you can turn them on and off. but if you turn on the switch, they stay on.. please help in Lexington KY.

Just a shot here: The door switches due to hinge wear might not be fully depressed when door is closed, T

Sounds like the dimmer switch is not operating correctly. It works off of internal resistance which regulates voltage output to the dash. You may want to replace it as they are not too expensive. Steve
