Vehicle:
2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee
v8 automatic awd
approx 220k miles

So, here is what I did. I bought a travel trailer with a flat four prong hook up. My jeep has the u-haul hookup already on it, with the flat four hookup.
It did not work. I tried tracing the wires to find a problem spot. The only thing I discovered was nothing seemed to be hooked up.
I went online to find where the wiring harness should connect, and the route which should be used by said harness. I found the info I needed and took off the necessary interior trim to get to it.
As suspected, no hookup.
I then figured I would take the 10 prong hookup in the jeep and use a simple current tester and find out which wires went to which spot. I got the grounds hooked up, and tested a blinker with leads to the trailer hookup.
I accidentally crossed two prongs and shorted out my turn signals. Not even my hazard lights worked. but, the car did have power still to everything else.
I went to the fuse box, and replaced my fuse number 4, 15amp flasher fuse. When I did this, my interior light (the little one beside the fuse box) started blinking like crazy and my blinkers did not work still, and then I noticed my 'ringer' in the jeep kept going off so I pulled out fuse number 7, 10amp interior lights.
When I put it back in my 10 amp fuse for lights, nothing worked on the jeep at that point. No turn signals, no beeping, no interior lights, not anything.
I disconnected the negative cable for 30 minutes, let things attempt to reset. In this time I did replace what appeared to be a burned out front turn signal flasher bulb.
When I put the negative terminal back on, I heard some very fast 'clicking' for about 5 to 7 seconds, then lost all power again.
Does anyone have any remote idea?
I did take out the turn signal flasher and checked all its' connections and everything is still connected. I have only replaced the 15amp flasher fuse and the front right turn signal flasher bulb.

When I touch the negative cable back to the battery and I am touching the signal flasher relay ( up under the dashboard), I can feel it buzzing until everything stops again. When I take the relay back out and try this step again I can still hear clicking from the same immediate area, thought it sounds different than when the relay is installed.

Blown fuses do not reset and neither does anything else in the lighting circuit. It sounds like you have done enough damage and you need to bring it to someone with some electrical knowledge to resolve all the issues and correct the damage you have done.
