2000 dodge van brake lights

I'm helping a nam vet who lost his leg and just got the van today when you push the brake pedal the middle or cyclops light comes on but the two bottom ones dont work I'v checked all fuses relays bulbs ect also the flashers dont work I dont know if a 2000 model year uses flasher unit for the turn signal and flashers I cant find any so I think it goes thru a relay but can't find out why the bottom lights dont work but the top one dose I dont have a manual so any Ideas would be great

OK - good for you for helping this guy. We'll do our best here. What I found with a quick search is this van probably has a complicated brake light switch. I'll try for the pic of it........



Hope that shows. Says on that part "Do Not Re-Install" for whatever reason and it was only $12 bucks but this could be messing up the show for third brake light and or directionals/hazards. I'm guessing and really don't know what to say on how to test it out with 6 wires going to and from it might be the weak link for all the issues.

Other is if the van had wiring for a trailer make sure that it wasn't hacked as that can be a problem spot too off the books of who might have done what if so.

What exact model is this van? That may help us help you. If altered somehow do you know what was done?
