2000 Mitsu Mirage - reversing lamps inop.

Reversing lamps are inoperative, bulbs not suspect. Has 5-speed manual transmission. Have looked under center console surrounding gearshift in an attempt to source the problem. Problem found during routine state inspection.

Rule out fuses with test light.
Right bulbs? Use test light in socket carefully or back side of wiring for power and grounds.
Not sure where they put the switch in car or on trans?
