I just replaced the fuel pump in my Chev Blazer 4wd, 4 door, 4.3 liter engine. The battery was dead so I recharged it. It started right up. I shut it off and came back a couple hours later and the battery was dead again. ( it's a new battery). I put the charger back on it and the dome lights now go on and off every few seconds and it doesn't charge. I took the charger off and there is a clicking sound coming from under the dash on the passenger side, when the key is off. I didn't want to continue charging because I've never seen the lights go on and off like that during charging.

Does it have an aftermarket alarm?
Double check all the battery power connections.

That clicking noise is a relay. Find out which one it is and let us know. Do you have a multimeter or a test light?

Just curious, what made battery go dead the first time? Dead again soon after suggests it didn't work right or battery new or not could be toast, a strong drain or connection problems as said. Not sure but if this has delay interior lights they could be all confused with improper voltage thru the thing to be checked by plain voltmeter which is part of a multimeter.
Is your charger any good? It might has stressed that out if not automatic,

Probably not needed till you figure out if you can really charge the battery, test it and the battery as so far this thing doesn't crank in a couple hours. Assorted items don't like improper power, -- T

Pull the battery and take it back to where you got it from and have them charge & test it for you.......1st step is to make sure you are working with a good battery......Just because it's new.....doesn't mean it's good..
