1999 Ford F-350 Dome light and fan Sign In

Cabin fan continues to blow with ignition off . Will stop only when control ( vent, a/c, heater, etc) is turn to off position. Also dome light stays on. Tried wd 40 on door latches. When opening any of the four doors or turning the dome light switch on, the light gets brighter. Both problems started today. Are these problems related or coincidental? Could the timer on the light be bad? Ron

7.3 powerstroke diesel

Looking over the wiring diagrams I would look towards a faulty ignition switch.. unfortunatly I can not post wiring digrams as they are not in picture format.. I would check gray/yellow wire at ignition switch for + voltage with key off and out.. if there is 12V there it's more then likely the ignition switch.

ZMAME,
Sounds like you know your fords. Will check the voltage first thing tomorrow. Will check for recalls, ignition switch comes to mind.
Thank you for your time and good advice. Ron.

No recalls for ignition switch.

There is 2 recalls for your truck if they already haven't been done
Cam sensor recall
Break switch recall

Good luck!

This morning I noticed the Igntion switch turned harder than normal, blowed it out with air and sprayed the key with wd-40. Worked the key in, out, on and off. Did this two times and no more problems with dome light or blower staying on. How do I change the switch out with a new one? ANy idea of the cost?

Will have to remove the panel below the coloum, remove tilt steering lever by unscrwing it. Remove 3 screws holding the platic around the colum. remove platic. Remove the harness going to the ignition switch then remove the ignition switch.
