Have you ever actually tested the charging voltage? That's where you have to start. Use a digital voltmeter and read the voltage across the battery with the engine idling and no accessories on. You should have between 13.5 and 14.7 volts. Let me know what the voltage is.

What is the charging voltage at the battery?

Jennie; In addition to Hammer's suggestion, have the battery re-tested. Even though it is 'new', could be defective, causing the alternator to 'overwork'.
