From time to time the ABS light would come on and then go off and lately it is on all the time. I looked at all the wheels and on the right rear wheel I see the electrical sensor that goes into the back of the wheel is loose. I don't see any way to tighten it up or see a plug on the wire so it can be unplugged and replaced. Is my system dead with the light on?

If a wheel sensor is damaged or gucked up you can get the ABS light and it may stay on as you noted. The normal default is to behave as normal brakes that didn't have ABS at all to begin with IF THE BRAKES ARE OK OTHERWISE which should be known. If unsure about the sensor get a code reading for ABS and it may point right to just that and be done with that issue, T
