Year of vehicle: 1997 Make of Vehicle: Ford Model: Escort Wagon Engine size: 2.0L Mileage: 98,021 Just noticed on my escort as I went out to get something from the car that my brake lights were all on and the car is off, I have two wires that threaded in the rear door but that's from the previous owner and I know one's to the rear wiper and the other goes to the rear windshield washer pump, I don't need them anyways, I'm junking the car in a little more than 2 weeks from now, but this brake light problem happened all of a sudden, I'm just wondering if anyone knows what wire it is that controls this? I might just replace it? I work at a junk yard and can get one free, or the entire wiring harness for like 5 dollars, has this happened to anyone else?

Look at the brake light switch and see if the little round rubber bumper that the switch lads against has fallen off. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
