I have a 1996 pontiac grand am with a 2.4 I was driving and all the indicator lights came on the oil,check engine all of them and it continued to run until i unhooked the battery thinking maybe they would reset and now it just starts and runs for a second and shuts down. I tried a new ecm and all the lights are still on and starts for a second and dies but my shift indicator light wont come on. Is it some anti theft deal or a silonoid any help would be appreciated thank you.

At this point is sounds like the Passlock security system is locking you out. You can try the relearn procedure but it's possible all those dash lights coming on were an indication of the dash cluster having a problem which is part of the Passlock circuit. If this relearn doesn't work, then you will need a Tech2 scan tool to get to the bottom of the problem.
