I have a 1996 Olds that will not start. I turned the motor off to go into the store and when I came back it would not start. It never stuttered right before. I had recently had the the filters changed. The battery was checked the cables were checked. I sent it to a mechanic, but he is in small town and does not have a lot of electrical equipment. He feels that he has narrowed it down to the security chip in the key. Is there a way to fix this problem without it costing an arm and a leg? My dad bought a new key thinking that may help, but no go.
