My 96 Camry SV40 has an amron battery just 2 years old. Now it sometimes does not start immediately after stopping. It looks a like a dead battery, with even the dashboard indicators not coming on. However, if I leave it for 15-30 minutes, it starts without any problem. Is this the normal way for batteries to fail, does it indicate something else? Thanks for your help.

No, not the usual way batteries fail. Just what happens when you do NOT start? Nothing for a noise at all?

Need to know either way - no noise or noise and what sound it makes,

Couldn't hear any noise. The problem did not occur in the past few days. If it occurs again, I'll listen carefully for any noise. Thanks for your help.

No noise and you said up top "no indicators on dash I take as meaning any lights? That would likely be a bad battery cable connection at either end of both even when they may appear fine. That if so usually will also reset clocks and radio presets if ZERO at the time of cranking happened.

Why is tricky. I would guess that spot with such lousy connection got hot from trying and lost connection and then had enough to work later. If that stayed doing that while testing you'd find exactly which place where was the cause.

This does NOT sound like a battery problem itself. Rather connections probably right to it and especially if cheap cables ends were installed back when it was new - most really lack quality,
