Ok I am working on a 1995 gmc sierra 350 , ladies is driving it and she stops at a red light the truck dies and wont start it gets towed to me I have put in a new fuel pump still not starting if i take a hot wire to the battery to the fuel pump relay fuse box it will start but i can't bypas it cause it has to be fixed right . right now when i try to start it with out the jumper wire it cranks and that is it , you can hear the box from the security system clicking also but the fuel system for some reason isnt getting any electricity , unless i use a jumper wire any suggestions as to why its not working ( i have checked every wire ) please let me know or how i can use a jumper wire and get the fuel system to operate with the ignition ( ie the fuel system will turn off and on with the rest of the vehicle ) thank you for reading

A maybe for this:

The oil pressure switch may be able to cancel fuel pump but I thought there was a grace period for start up.

If there's some aftermarket security system in this that failed to cause this good luck!

Wild shot -- relay can't deliver the juice. Can you feel it tick but not allow power thru it? Not the most common on GMs but carry spares for Fords!

Does the ignition key have a little 'chip' in it? Security lamp illuminated on dash? Try another key. Lock and unlock the driver's door with the key, then try starting. Just a guess, or two. Most of the later model GM's have the VAT system. The ignition switch must 'see' the correct resistance in the little chip in the key.
