I have a 1995 dodge caravan SE 3.3L. I was driving and it quit. Checked the fuses and found Ecu fuse blown. I replaced the fuse and the "check engine light" came on. Connected scan tool retrieved code 41. I found it charging a low voltage of 12.4volts. I replaced the alternator and still it was giving me a low voltage. What could possibly be wrong?

The first thing you want to do is test for power on the big terminal of the alternator with the engine OFF. That tests for the inline fuse. If you have power there, then you likely have a bad computer since the voltage regulator is built into it but by all means, have it diagnosed properly before replacing a computer.

Hammer has some good advise on checking that system out. That was a poor design incoorperating the regulator into the PCM... gee those things never go out Crazy

There is a regulator kit available that splices into the wiring harness for the PCM.
