I have Year of vehicle 1995 Make of vehicle Ford Model of vehicle Mustang Engine size 3.8L (not GT) Mileage 195K miles I recently bought a performance chip and hesitating to put it in. In the description it says that it is going to give up to 60 horse powers and reduces the spending of gas from 10 to 20 mpg. that sounds good, but I just wanted to listed what professional will say.

Never mind the chip but take care of the ABS and AIR BAG light! The chip won't do squat for HP or gas mileage and perhaps mess it up - on that I'm about certain, T

I agree with Tom. ABS and air bag need to be addressed. By design a performance chip can not improve fuel mileage. More power means more fuel--therefore reducing the fuel mileage. Being way2old is why I need help from younger minds

what's ABS and what's going to happen if it's not working? A asked a mechanic, but he was kind of busy and said that's fine if ABS light is on.

The ABS is Anti-lock Brake System. If the light is on, the Anti-lock function is disabled and you only have regular brakes. You can still drive it, but if you have to do a panic stop, all you will do is lock up the wheels and slide into something. Your choice. Being way2old is why I need help from younger minds

thanks a lot. Btw can you recommend me some tires that are resistant to burn outs, because mine are almost bold since I learned to drift.
