I have
Year of vehicle 1995
Make of vehicle BMW
Model of vehicle 318i
Engine size 1.8
Mileage 90K
but the cluster gauge is not working, mechanics told me that I'll need a new gauge, but I don't want to buy one with more miles on it. I just don't know if the gauge will read the mileage from the computer or the computer will read the mileage from the gauge.
For example if I have 90K on the car and I'll put a use gauge with 150K on it. what mileage will appear on the gauge?

I’m not a 100% sure of this but if BMW is like most other manufacturer’s instrument clusters; the memory for the odometer is retained in the cluster.
To confirm this you could call your local dealer’s service department and they’ll be able to tell you. They’ll also be able to tell you, where to send the replacement cluster, along with all the requirements too have it calibrated.

Fans kicking on? Stuck t-stat, cooling system plugged, - make sure it's realy full at the radiator not just the tank, not always so easy (many don't use a separate cap at radiator) but it must be known full,

yeah the fan works good. There is no cup for the radiator, there is only one.

I believe the problem is the t-stat. so I'm getting a new one today.

I just put the new thermostat, but can't fill the radiator with the antifreeze because there is no separate cup. so how do I fill the radiator with antifreeze?

General for vehicles with no cap on rad itself: There may be a plug near thermostat or remove a hose high up and fill from there. Allow several cycles of warm up and cool downs for system to purge out air to recovery tank till stable and known proper at both,

actually I did it by pumping the pipe that comes from the top of the radiator. I squeezed it and released it numerous times. You will see the bubbles in the tank when you squeeze it, than when you release it the antifreeze is going to fill the space that the air just escaped from. I did it when the motor was running( I don't know if that would make a difference) After the tank gets empty, refill it and do the same thing till the antifreeze will squirt from the hole on the top (there is a small hole that is connected from the radiator to the tank, that's how the excess antifreeze gets out of the radiator when it gets hot) as you pumping.
I just wrote it for other users in case they will need it.

 That's the idea. Works best with pressure cap on recovery tank loose or removed or you are fighting with the pressure of the cap. Still watch and fill after a few full cycles with temp,
