I have a 1994 F150 with a 5.0 liter 8 cylinder engine. Just recently the vehicle has started to crank very slowly the 1st time it is started. I tightened the cable made sure no corrosion was on teh cable and made sure that the connection to the starter was tight. The volt gauge, when the vehicle is running is just slightly above the middle which i thought was normal. The battery was replaced about 3 years ago. It is a Ford Motorcraft battery I was thinking volt regulator but because teh gauge is almost in teh normal range I was thinking a possible drain was happening. Any thoughts? I hope I explained the issue but if more info is needed let me know.
Thanks

I don't know why your dismissing the battery so easily, especially 3 years old. Sounds like a clear case of bad battery.

tmbalin; As HT suggested, my first thought would be the battery, itself. But, have the battery load tested, charging system tested, starter for excessive draw (starters are usually at their worst when hot, but if you have an oil leak saturating the starter....), and checked for a parasitic drain before you start replacing stuff. Be sure to check the 'inside' of the battery cables as well as the battery terminals.
