I have a 1994 Chevy S-10 Blazer 4x4. The passenger window will open about 2 inches and then stop. After a few minutes you can drop it another 2 inches and so on. Same thing when attempting to raise it.

I am trying to determine what part I most likely need to replace before tearing the door apart.

Any suggestions?

Sorry for the late reply; what you describe sounds like the typical tired window motor. There’s a built in circuit breaker (not serviceable) in the motor that will automatically turn off and then turn back on after it cools. Once the motor begins to wear out mechanically and electrically the current flow to run the motor goes up considerably causing the breaker to go open.
There’s no repair for this problem other then replacing the motor. Now that being said, during the replacement of the motor make sure that the window itself moves freely in its guides.
The main purpose of this breaker is a safety feature as to not hurt anyone (a child) that may have their arm or any other part of their body (neck) pinched in a closing window it.

Dan, Good Day eh?!

Thanks for the info. That eliminates some of the trouble-shooting beforehand. I will be sure and check the tracks of the window as well to make sure there is nothing stopping the movement of the window.
