1993 Mitibishi 300GT Headlight Problems Sign In

About 2 weeks ago my headlights started going off in my car after about 2 miles going up the road. Now i live in the country and there are no lights on the road so thius is very dangerous. When the lights turn off, I play with the high and low beams and flick the lights on and off and they seem to cut back on after a few seconds. What could this be. Please note that I do have automatic light sensors but I dont use them.Frown Please Help.

Checking out the schematic on this thing. Seems there is an automatic light off control module that is used to control the headlamp relay. It grounds the headlamp relay coil when it sees the headlamp switch signal pulled to ground once the contact is made in the head lamp switch. There is also another module (ECIAS) that controls the pop up headlamps and a switch to override the pop up so the headlamps are always up even if the headlamp switch is turned off.

Your going to need a wiring schematic and volt meter to check this thing out to see if the automatic light off module has a headlamp switch input problem, the module is turning off the headlamp relay, etc. This system is kind of complex, so you really need to understand how to check electrical circuits. Can't tell you what is causing it, without testing.

Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

Okay thanks, I am going to have to get a friend of mine to check this out. I was hoping it was something simple like a fuse or relay but I will have to call upon the electrician to figure this one out for me. Checking circuits is not my speciality. But I will follow up!!
