1992 toyota aristo
3 liter inline 6 cyl
twin turbo

I bought this car a few months ago and since i've had it the abs and trc lights come on when i start driving and they don't work. The car has an aftermarket stereo, horn, cigarette charger plug in since the original cigarette lighter doesn't work and car stater. Im not sure but i think the front and rear sensors that beep when you get close to something is afermarket as well. I checked the fuses and the 10A dome fuse keeps blowing. All of a sudden the battery started draining as well and its brand new. I disconnected the after market horn, subwoofer and checked the interior light bulbs because they don't come on. The lights for the window switches stay on all the time. The dash clock resets itself every time I turn off the car.

I'd like to hopefully have it fixed on a budget and before winter. Is there anything I can check? If not me (cause I know i'm not good with this stuff) something to recommend to my friend who is good with cars?

I would probably start off with making suring the alternator is charging 1st.

The GS wasn't an option in the states in 1992. The SC300 had the 2JZ without the turbos in 1992 though.

Most have commonalities. You can get trouble codes from the ECU by jumpering TE1 to E1 in the diagnostic connector under the hood. You can also get ABS and TCS codes by jumpering TC to E1 in the connector. Once jumpered, turn the ignition on and count the flashes of the check engine light and/or ABS warning lamp.

PS...The 2JZ-GE and the GTE happen to be two of my most favorite engines to work on when they roll in the shop. Amazing design and technology for it's time.
