my car has been in the transmission shop since Oct 2009...lots of repair history I'll go into but right now they think there is a wire harness problem causing a transmission sluggishness problem??
the car feels like it is dragging an anchor/transmission slippage but only when first started in the morning and then will only do that for about 100 feet where it stops moving
the repair history to date:::
...I took my cadillic deville to the transmission shop for rebuilding in Oct 2009
--driving the car; it was only sluggish but would drive all day like that (but was notacbly getting worse, hence the reason i took it in)...the shop rebuilt the trans as the found where the shaft had started milling into the case---so, the torque converter, shaft ,valve body, servos, clutch pack, etc. most everything was changed out $$$$$
...but it still was sluggish and i was told the computer needed replaced for it wasn't talking ti the transmission...so i replaced with (new from the dealarship) the ECM, the EPROM, the PCM where the transmission shop had referred to me and took the car to an auto eletcrical repair shop..but to no avail, that evidently wasn't the problem and so I had the car taken back to the trans shop and then onto the Cadi dealership for their hand at TS---they ended up telling me the car wouldn't start nor keep running long enough to test it out and furthermore it had a huge vacume leak and I needed to replace the intake manifold gaskets which could be tricky with the aluminum block and heads----what?? the car never did have that problem with the other shops,,so I had the car towed (slidback) to me where I found the dealership's mechanic evidently removed the air intake filter assembly at some point to shoot some wires I guess but ended up pinching the tiny (#18) distriburator wire and caused an intermitent short plus the tank was emtied of fuel---i wrapped the wire and positioned it under the metal bracket where it belonged, and put in 5 gal of gas and the car started right up and ran perfectly on idle for 20 min.....but the car still was sluggish so i thought it could be a plugged exhaust system so I replaced the entire exhaust system to include the cat plus the O2 sensor...still sluggish so I took it back to the trans shop for them to continue the fix...they took it back into the bay and said they pulled it back out and went back thru it (they do not have a dyno test capability) and say it all looks to be good and felt it was a computer to auto harness problem and towed it to another shop specializing in computer interface diagognostics, that shop seems to think it lies within the transmission and so the trans shop went back to sled it back...thats where it is and where it is today with them saying it is a wire harness problem but they cannot find a replacement harness after months of serching.....I don't know what to do and am now serching out knowledge from whomever may have any thoughts ...

This is just a shot in the dark, but it has fixed a bunch of caddies with driveability issues around that year. Follow your main neg (ground) batt cable down from the batt to where it attaches to block. Take the cable off the stud.Remove the stud from the block and clean the area, cable end and stud REAL GOOD with a wire brush. Reinstall stud TIGHT. Install cable and nut TIGHT. Clean both batt connections and test drive. Do everything as written and you may have an improvement.
