Search Auto Parts Search 1991 dodge truck keeps draining battery Sign up here!   Email This Post Auto Repair Home>> Automotive Repair>> Automotive Wiring and Electrical bigrog New User Feb 11, 2012, 12:14 PM Post #1 of 3 (1904 views) 1991 dodge truck keeps draining battery Sign In i have a 1991 dodge power ram with a 318. basic model(no power windows or ac). about 3 months ago during the snow period i noticed my it was getting harder to start so i replaced the old battery and it was good for about 1 month.i dont drive during the week so i would start it up every 2 days. last month while driving the charging gauge showed it wasnt charging and it was running on the batt. I changed the alternator,found the same thing still happening,put the old alternator back in,(old one was still good)and tried to check wire's. now the batt is totally dead and i dont know what to do. Once you get it running you need to see what the charging system voltage is using a volt meter on the battery terminals.
