The cigarette lighter (power outlet) on my 1991 Mazda 626 is not working. My first thought is that it is a fuse or a relay that's gone bad, but I don't know which fuse or relay to check. I've tested all the fuses I could find and they appear to be ok. Does anyone know what fuse or relay powers the cigarette lighter?

You should test that the very center of the inside has voltage or not. The sides should be ground so test for that too. Some have a light in them which can be ignored.

The most problems come from these things from actually lighting a cigar or cigarette with them. I smoke and have never used them and don't know why they were so popular except for maybe a convertible while driving along.

They get gucked up from any use other than being a power port. Change gets dropped in or something and they fail. Just look to see how it looks. Most can be replaced if corroded, easily. Bet it works and you just have a lousy connection there,
