I have a 1990 Honda, and I just put in a new battery. I turn over the ignition and the battery light stays on. Since i can't hook up my code scanner, could someone help me as to what's going on? The car has been parked and not driven for quite some time, and we would like to get it back on the road. Thanks very much for any help

The battery light is an indication that either the battery is not getting charge or there is a power issue under the hood. I am 95% sure you may have an Alternator issue. Take your car to a local mechanic with a multi meter and get them to check the charge on your alternator.

Good luck with it, should be charging around 14v, let me know how you go.

I took alternator out of the car( by the way it was more difficult than the repair manual said) took it to Autozone. They tested it and said it was bad. So I will buy reman and belts, and put it back together, although I mat have to ask for help on that one. Thanks, I appreciate the help!
