07 charger, turn key....nothing happens but only sometimes.

I have a 2007 Dodge Charger, 6 cylinder, 2.7L with over 118K miles. I came home from work one day pulled in the driveway, turned the car off and everything was fine. The car runs great, no problems with it. The next morning we get in to go to work and I turned the key and nothing happened. The radio and all electric worked perfect but the engine made no sound, didn't even attempt to turn over. Tried it numerous times, nothing. Got a ride to work, came home, tried to jump it, nothing. The battery is less than 2 months old, by the way. So I was going to take it to a mechanic the following morning. When I woke up the next day something told me to try it again so I did. It fired right up and has been running perfect all day. I've turned it off numerous times and it starts right up but I'm afraid it wil do it again at some point. Any ideas about what it could be? My key has a chip in it, could there be a problem with the key's chip?

Are you getting a flashing security light when this happens?
