06 pt cruiser problem dash resets , no codes

My wife has a 2006 pt cruiser touring edition with about 35,000 miles , It will drive normal and then a solid red light in the center console will light on for a second and then all the dash gauges will zero(gas level oil pressure,rpm , temp , speedometer ) and all the icons will light for about 3 seconds and then back to nornal. It does this while idle and while driving at various speeds . the obd will not log any codes and this is becoming more and more frequent. any ideas what to check or replace.

Sounds like it might be might be a cluter issue it's hard to say where to start.. I know with fords you can do a self-test on cluster with dealer scanner to full test the fuctions of the cluter. Chrysler dealership might have this too.

update:
I took my wife's pt cruiser to the local garage mechanic who had the tools to attach to the BCM , he performed a reflash of the bcm and performed a 30,000 mile service . looks like it fixed the issue (knock on wood), it hasn' done it all weekend.

I think you ment to say PCM not BCM. 
Sometimes a reflash will cure strange problems because of a software glitch.
Hope it stays fixed for ya!

Oh.., Not used to people having problems with the BCM..
I guess the dash cluster problem should have been a clue for me. lol
