06 Cobalt LT, 4d, 2.2, 65K, front passenger window will not roll up, just down, fuses are good, checked switch with meter and test light, it is working properly, checked lift motor, it is working properly for both directions, this is a new problem to this car. However the driver door window at times wont work at all, a slam of the door fixes this. I suspect a loose or broken wire on driver door. Wire connections at the switch harness' are tight. Does the ground for the passenger door run through the master (driver door) switch? Which wires are the grounds for these switches? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What do you mean by the switch working properly? What exactly did you test for? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

With a test light I went to the wire harness that plugs directly into the window lift motor, a two wire harness. When pressing switch to lower window I got a hot signal on one side, then pressing to raise window I got a hot signal on the other side. Window was in the down position, and would not raise, I made some wire leads and clipped them to each motor lead at motor then connected the leads to a battery and the motor worked in both directions, up and down.

But you never checked the alternating grounds. These are reversing polarity switches.

No I didn't. I know just enough to get my self in too deep. Anyhow, I got a new switch (front passenger) with the same results, window will go up but not down.

You need to test at the switch to see if it is sending grounds out when it sends the power out. Thew wire that tests power in one direction shout show ground in the other direction.
