05 Equinox Heated Seats

On my '05 Equinox LT, the driver's side heated seat works properly but on the passenger side, it's only heating the seat bottom at slightly above ambient temp... meaning, it does have 12V coming in, but is only heating at about maybe 10% of capacity.
Thanks in advance for any ideas/suggestions.

poiyt; Hopefully, one of the other guys with more electrical experience will jump in here. I looked at the wiring diagram. There is a module and a switch that controls the heat by allowing controlled voltage to the heater element in the seat. There is a TSB on this stating to make certain that no seat covers or any comfort type objects are on the seat as they can disturb the readings that the module is seeing. If both the module and switch are operating normally, there is a replacable heater element in the seat.

Thanks Loren. As indicated, the seat does heat faintly; indicating power and a circuit. Thus that leads me to think it's not the element and perhaps either the module/ switch/ or both. Anything else I've not thought of?

Poiyt. Here is the diagram for the passenger side heated seat module. You need to verify battery voltage between terminals 4 and 1 of the gray connector. Next, verify battery voltage between terminals 3 and 1 of the gray connector. If these are both good, check for voltage between 1 and 2 of the gray connector that only has 2 wires. This will vary due to the fact there is a temp. sensor in the circuit. The module will regulate seat heater voltage based on what the temp. sensor input is. It is possible that the sensor may be bad sending improper input to the module causing the module to think it is warmer in the cab than it really is. This will give you a less than satisfactory heating of the seat. If this is the case, then the temp. sensor is faulty. I couldn't find any temp to resistance charts in the shop manual for this vehicle. That info is really needed to verify the problem unless the sensor ohms out open or shorted.
