I have a 2004 GMC Sierra 1500, V-6 Vortec. Previous owner installed a new dashboard before I purchased it around 7 years ago. Over the years, I have lost functionality of the speed odometer gas gauge, temperature gauge. Well everything but the radio. Is there a cluster type of connection behind the dash that includes all this and do I need to remove the dash to get to it? If so, any tips on dash removal would be appreciated.

This is a pretty common failure of the dash cluster. It is pretty easy to remove and many dealers sell a reman unit to replace it with. They will have to program the odometer for you. There are common ground points in the dash but it's pretty unlikely that a bad one would only effect the dash cluster. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
