'02 elantra power door lock trouble

2002 Hyundai elantra driver side door won't unlock by key. Key turns and nothing happens. Can use key in passenger door and all doors unlock. drivers door locks and unlocks manually from inside. What should I check first?

Remove the driver's door panel and see if the lock cylinder rod is attached to the latch assembly.
