Problem with my Volkswagen Golfs touch screen Sign In

Hi, I'm new here, so I hope,l that this is the right thread. If it's not, please redirect me.
Also, English is not my first language, so apologizes for any grammatical mistakes in advance.

So, about a year ago I purchased Volkswagen Golf 6 Plus, 2012.
For the first few months everything worked as it should, but then slowly probles started. The first thing I noticed was that my usb cabel doesn't work. A minor inconvenience, bit ok. Then when I plugged in my phone to the car charger, it wouldn't charge. And then, out of the blue, the touch screen started to blink when I started the car. Nothing big just a few blinks, and then it was fine. Then, after approximately 6 months, the blinking "evolved into : turning off the radio and trying to link with some Ipod (no one has that device), randomly turning on the back camera ( wellz trying to, it didn't show the actual footage, it was just basically a black screen with those lines that help you park)... And then one day it didn't turn on. It turned on after a short time(like maybe five minutes). And then that time grew larger and larger....until one day it just wasn't working even after several hours of driving. I thought that that was that, that it just died, bit then after like 3 or 4 months, it worked again. Sure it was still blinking and turning on the back camera, but after approximately an hour it worked normally. It worked than for like a day or two and then died again. Today, it was working again after about a month or so .
So my question is:
Has anyone had the same problem?
Do you think something is wrong with the software or is it maybe just some cabel?
If you know what the problem is; how expensive is wold a repair be?
This thing is really bothering me, I mean I can't even listen to radio in my damn car.
Before you say "take the car to a car electrician"- in my country they are known by two things: they work really, really slow , so potentially I could be without my car for few weeks or even moths- I cannot afford that, I live in a pretty rural place and I'm using my car every day. Also I'm afraid it would cost me a lot; I think that they charge around 200€ just to examine the car to find the problem. The solving is a lot more expensive.I can't afford a bill around 600 € with my 1200€ per month salary.
So yeah, any ideas and suggestions?

I'm afraid you're in a bit of a mess. There is a reason it costs that much. Repairing an electrical issue like that requires years and years of training and equipment that can set you back more than $100,000 US. About the only thing I can advise you to do is test ALL of your fuses using a test light. Beyond that you need an Auto electric shop.

When you buy a car with all that electronics you have to plan on spending some serious money on upkeep.
If you think the cost of diagnostics is a lot, wait until you see what a new factory radio would cost.

This isn't my area nor am I thrilled about what I already know and have for assorted devices. Even plain things like a portable camera, GPS just give out - quit working or go all wrong!

These are things that are not exposed to what a car is expected to be all assorted temperatures, moisture, vibrations, harsh sunlight are just some of the conditions.

Hammer Time is no doubt correct it would be the cost of refitting it will all new parts making it simply impossible to justify versus a portable device that doesn't cost that much.

Camera view on dashboards is just asking for a failure in my opinion if just dirt, eventual lens failures.

If this car runs, drives and is safe to use for you that's what a car is for to begin with. Creature features are toys that just don't last but fun while they do.

I do understand you miss the stuff working. So would 4 flat tires or the car can't move for another reason the rest is junk.

Also well understood the slow repair problem. It just seems the younger people just don't wish to concentrate on things that will change out again and have a useless trade.

Last is a wild guess. Once fuses are known good by test light it might be a tiny battery to hold memory for these things has lost life to recharge (if so) or replace. I DON'T KNOW. These type features have not been out and in use for all that long as things go and put into moving vehicles.

Wish you luck but the new normal is just buy new stuff all the time anything goes wrong? It doesn't make sense,

Tom
