PLDN63BT wiring harness Sign In

Hi,

I have a Honda pilot EX 2003 and just bought a Pyle pldn63BT to replace the factory fitted radio. I'm having difficulty figuring out the wiring. Some of the wires are pretty simple to figure out. But I can't figure out what to do with the following wires on the old harness.
Blue Connector:
White/Yellow (probably the antenna)
Red/Green
Blue
White
Red/Black
Red
Gray Connector:
Black/White
White/Green

On the harness that came with the system, it has following wires that I don’t know where to connect to (I’m guessing the these go with some of the ones mentioned above, but which ones?)

SW key
AMP Remote Turn on
Illumination
Back (To reverse Light)
Parking
Auto Antenna
SW-Ground

The old harness has two wires for Illumination positive and negative (wire # 9 Red/Blk – positive & wire # 19 Red – Negative) however the new system has only one orange wire for illumination and it doesn’t say whether its positive or negative.

AYOR and know this isn't my thing. They make plugs such that new radio/sound systems match exactly the existing wiring of the vehicle it's going to never messing with OE wiring. If no specific detailed instructions came with what you have I suggest you get a "Car Audio" shop - now a trade of it's own to do the job or sell the products that will work in your specific vehicle.
I know you and I hear them all over the place but don't always hear of the nightmares and or wild damage done.

Beware,

oy vey gone are the days of simple radio swaps- my colleague alluded to the horror stories and rightfully suggested you speak with professional installers.
Time, money, labor, hassle, trade offs - for a car audio, not recommended .

If this this has NAV, security input from the PMU, steering wheel controls, and etc. you can really do some damage connecting the wrong wires.

Suggest you get the factory radio wiring diagram for your vehicle. An adapter harness is highly preferred instead of hacking up the factory wiring harness as Tom stated. Even with the adapter harness, you should verify that the wires go where they are supposed to go.

Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

Knock on wood I don't have to change another to non OE, exact fit. Have two done. They called it an "interface" for which unit you chose wire to that with instructions color to color. Plug in antennae and plain plug into wiring harness of the car - done. Those already had amps in the trunk from new an it uses them now.

If it's it's all kinds of not compatible with the car - you need to know and choose something else that is. All for folks having good fun but not messing up a whole electrical system up to a car that may not move again or catch on fire for not having the right specific stuff for that car and parts to work with it properly installed. Not as easy as it might look with serious high risks of damage.
Of course thing can be done. Those shops will have the latest stuff and know what will get what you want. In short, not a good place to hunt bargains vs doing it right or knowing it shouldn't be in that car at all!
