New ignition in 94 Accord causes stereo to lose power. Login - Sign Up

1994
Honda
Accord EX

Previously My honda was stolen and I had to replace the ignition. The day that I installed the new ignition lock assembly all was well, but i noticed that my pioneer deck had no power. I disconnected the battery before I made the switch. I checked the fuse under the hood, under the driver side dash, and on the back of the actual stereo after dismounting it. All the fuses seemed to be fine. I heard from a friend that there is a way to troubleshoot it and that the stereos have a trip if the ignition is messed with? I have no idea what went wrong or how to fix it. Any help is much appreciated.

Heart broken Honda owner.

If everything else is functioning normal (all the other car functions), what you could do would be to remove the deck & check the power feeds going to the deck off the back of the harness. Not sure on that deck but most aftermarket decks I've seen have 2. One that is a constant battery power for memory & then a switched ignition source. If the power sources are good then check the grounds. If worse come to worse you can always tap into another power source off the fuse box..........If you don't have the decks wiring diagram you may be able to get it off the makers web site. If you need the cars diagram, maybe someone here can post if for you if you ask for it.......

Problem solved. I feel like such an idiot. All fuses and wires were fine. I just had to reset the CD player by unplugging it, waiting a minute, and then plugging it back in. Figures. Me and electrical= bad day. Thanks for the help though.
