MG ZR speaker replacement Sign In

I have a 2005 MG ZR 1.4 and I'm trying to replace the speakers.

The original speakers are component and I'm replacing them with Edge component speakers.

From reading posts I gathered the information that I need to use the wiring from the original speaker to go into the crossover and not use the original tweeter wires at all.

My problem is that the tweeter doesn't seem to be working.

I tried using either of the tweeters and crossovers. I also checked that nothing had come lose within the tweeters or crossovers.

Should I be using the original tweeter wires that are already in the door? Or am I doing something wrong?

Any advice is appreciated.

Many Thanks

An update:

I tried using the original tweeter wires that were attached to the old tweeter and it's still not working.

Should I assume the fault is within the tweeters? It's just strange that both of them are not working :/

Hi - no responses yet so I can shed some ideas at least and this is NOT my thing.
Question: Do the original speakers still work if you try them? I ask because it's possible it blew something to change them to something incompatible with your system.
Next would be to seek out info from the maker of the new, desired speakers and see if there's more you need for the specific make and model.

There are places for some time now that total specialize in now a huge variety of sound systems suggest a consult at least if such a place is available to you at all,
